Governor receives a memo supporting use of available Soldiers Home property for veterans housing in Bristol. The plan involves converting Army barracks into family units with National Housing Authority funds and would reduce town costs while preserving Soldiers Home functions.

Honor Roll Revamped for Memorial Day at Burnside

The World War II Honor Roll before the Burnside Memorial Building has a face lift for Memorial Day. Town Clerk John Church and the Honor Roll Committee, including John P Marshall and Mrs. Russell C Hawkes, arranged name strips and cleaned the site. Stone slabs replace grass between the Honor Roll and sidewalk curbing to improve appearance and provide a stand for viewing.

Minstrel Planned by Mount Carmel Society

The Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church will stage a minstrel with Carl Russo as chairman. The chorus directed by Mrs Rose Ayres includes Domenic Ratola John Balzano Henry Diodati Anthony Matrone William Topazio James Fusco Robert Ruggeiro Nicholas Palma Joseph Gaglio Victor Formisano Joseph Castro and John Cupolo. Female chorus members lead Kathleen Cavalieri Jennie Cavalieri Lena Ruggeiro Pilomena Vescera Rose Misli magg Joseph Guisto Theresa Procopio Mary Louise Murgo Philemona Murgo Etta Murgo and Marie Cavalaro. The next chorus rehearsal is Tuesday at 8 in the Parish Hall.

Class Of 1947 Prom At Colt Auditorium

The Class of 1947 holds its annual prom this evening from 8 30 to 12 00 at the Colt Auditorium with blue and gold decorations. An local orchestra provides the music as the Prom committee led by Edward Travers and James Celone oversees decorations and refreshments.
