Rotary Club May Sponsor Big Horse Race for Fourth of July Fund
James F. Duffy urged the Rotary Club to sponsor a large horse racing event to benefit the Dwyer Memorial Fourth of July Fund. He recalled a successful winter program and proposed parimutuel betting at 10 cents per bet to boost community interest and fund proceeds. John R. Mapes said the idea would be sent to the Board of Directors for action soon.
