Rhode Island officer graduates to infantry training camp
Henry Barton Jr has been sent to Camp Grant Rockford for the Officers Training School for Infantry after graduating from Rhode Island College. He enlisted in the Officers Reserve Corps about a year ago and was a captain in the School Military Battalion at graduation. He will stay at camp until September.

May Festival at St Marys Parish Opens With Local Spirit
The annual May Festival began last evening in the church upper area with flag bunting decorations by William A Doran and assistants. Prof Donovan's orchestra played as Nora Dwyer and Margaret Conley sang solos and moving pictures added to the event. Booths were well patronized and plans unfold for Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus visits this week. The festival runs through Saturday with daily programs and lively community participation.

Sister Mary Evangelist Peters Dies in Nashville
Intelligence reports the death of Sister Mary Evangelist Peters in Nashville Tennessee last Friday after months of illness. Born in this town to James Peters and the late Mary Gaynoeters she served as a Sister of Mercy for twenty years and was principal of Cathedral Parochial School. She leaves two brothers James M. Peters of Providence and William F. Peters of Des Moines and a sister Mrs Thomas E. Johnson of this town. Funeral was in Nashville yesterday. memorial service set for Friday at 7 AM in St Marys Church.
