House Burning Case Continued One Week

Bristol School Board Approves $100 Raises for Eight Staff

At a regular meeting in Colt High School library, Bristol School Committee increased annual salaries by $100 for eight principals supervisors and teachers. It also awarded a coal contract to Seaconnet Coal Co and named new hires and reappointments, with resignations and land rental oversight discussed. A bronze tablet funding and a Parents Night exhibit plan were approved while the Academic track was renamed General. Total district enrollment reached 2702 with 2545 on roll.

Girl Scout Pageant Prep and Bridge Benefit Summary

The local Girl Scouts Council plans an afternoon meeting at Mrs Henry Wood’s High street home to create costumes for the Alladin's Lamp of Dreams pageant to be staged May 23 at Infantry Hall Providence. Kearney Sea Scouts traveled to Newport on Saturday to receive a cutter for summer seamanship drills. The eight oar crew plus a coxswain will man the craft as the group trains for rowing and boat handling. A Sea Scout meeting last night covered seamanship and preparations for the Memorial Day parade.
