Banquet and Dance of N I R Co Girls Club
The National India Rubber Company Girls Club held its annual banquet and dance in the factory recreation hall Wednesday evening with nearly 100 members at dinner and a postprandial program. Silver cups for bowling high marks were awarded by Miss Lillian Salzano to Miss Rose Gallagher high average Mrs Loretta Connell high single and Miss Molly Gallagher high three strings. The event featured soprano solos, dance numbers, a comedy sketch and a grand march led by Miss Elizabeth F Lynch and Edward A Currier Jr with multiple sub committees managing arrangements.

An original musical comedy titled Kitty will be staged May 18 and 19 at St Michael's Parish House under the St Michael's Brotherhood. Written by Col. Fred M Straight and Harvey Straight, the show features fresh music and witty dialogue by the Straight Twins with a cast of local talent.

Arson Case Against Sangiorgio Dropped and Conspiracy Charge Arises
Tindaro Sangiorgio, jailed on arson after a dwelling fire at 223 Wood Street, Bristol, had the arson case discontinued at a Fifth District Court session. He was then charged with conspiracy to burn the dwelling for insurer gain, bail set at 5000, with next court appearance scheduled. Co-defendant Joseph Alesi remains held without bail with case set for Monday.
