Reynolds School hosts music memory contests during National Music Week with 500 pupils in attendance. 8A1 defeats 8A2 97 to 92 while 8B1 beats 8B2 98 to 97. teams list winner and participant names.
Mrs Clinton T Sherman was re elected Regent of Bristol Chapter D A R at the annual meeting held yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs Charles A Hoar Barrington. New officers include Vice Regent Mrs J Fillers Ingraham Recording Secretary Mrs Earle P Mathewson Corresponding Secretary Mrs Gun Sullivan Historian Mrs Samuel C Wardwell Treasurer Mrs Edward G Easterbrooks Auditor Miss Tada M Cooke Church Chaplain Mrs Frank ST Bowen and Directors Mrs Edward J Kowwell Mrs Charles O F Thaimpson and Mrs Waitham H Angevine. Hostesses were Mrs Heather two daughters and Mrs Jo Carver Greene. Fifteen members attended the banquet last evening at the Providence Biltmore.
Pasquale Ferraiuolo reports a man broke into a house on 255 Franklin Street Thursday afternoon but escaped before police arrived. A factor worker from the National Indian Rubber Company across the street saw the intruder enter via a front window and neighbors chased him to a side window exit. Patrolman Hugh F Kelley searched the area but found no suspects. Ferraiuolo says nothing was taken.
School Committee meets in Colt Memorial High School library due to absence of Committeeman C B Rockwell Jr. Voting to postpone teacher elections, a special meeting to be called by Chairman Robert J Connery. Several agenda items include coal bids from Seth Paull Company and Staples Coal Company, printing of by laws, and leave for a teacher to Europe.
Rhode Island Music Festival at the State Armory in Providence featured performers from Colt Memorial High School Bristol Grammar School and Northup. Musicians included Muriel Hodgson Fritzie Dunbar Valentino Allesandro Joseph Luca Louis Malafronte John Dr yat Reynolds Salvatore Campagna Oreste Procopio Joseph Cabral Herrmann Wilbur and Chris Ostby with Miss M Theresa Sullivan supervising.
