Red Cross Appeals For Flood Aid In Bristol Region

Broad appeal for funds to aid Mississippi flood sufferers continues as Rhode Island Red Cross quota rises from 30000 to 60000. Local donations flow via Bristol Branch, with post office donations accepted 1 to 6 pm Tuesday through Thursday. Contributions listed include many individuals and families naming amounts totaling 444.00.

Bristol Volunteer Fire Companies Donate to Mississippi Flood Fund

Bristols volunteer fire companies held monthly meetings. Hydrauphon Engine & Hose Co donated 10 to the Red Cross flood fund and added one new member. Five more dollars were given by the Five Ready Engine & Hose Co. An entertainment committee was elected: Donat Jo Gladue Arthur Demnars Martin Maher Michael Flynn Bernard McHugh. Johnston Hose Co attends May 14. Defiance Hose Co admitted four new members and revised by laws. Dreadnaught Co gave 15 to flood relief.

District Nurses Report April Visits From Bristol Association

The Bristol District Nursing Association reports April totals by two nurses Miss Martha Graham and Miss Thyra Carlson. They completed 449 visits including 206 general care visits 166 Metropolitan 51 John Hancock 5 prenatal and 21 tuberculosis. General cases totaled 32 Metropolitan 62 John Hancock 6.
