World War Veteran Dismisses Gas Warfare Myths

Bristol Captain James W. Goff Dies on Duty at Police HQ
Capt. James W. Goff died suddenly from angina pectoris while on duty at the Bristol police headquarters. He served 35 years, born March 11 1875, and appointed captain in 1915. Survived by wife Helena, two sons James W. Jr. and Thomas J., and two sisters. Funeral arrangements set for his Bristol home.

Mascola Named Public Aid Director to Succeed DesLauriers
Domenico Mascola was elected by the Town Council to head Public Aid replacing John G DesLauriers who declined the post. Mascola began duties after a sworn oath. three of five council votes favored him with John Romano Joseph Dennis and William Angevine voting yes. DesLauriers, present at the meeting, had declined the appointment. DesLauriers had faced prior criticism over CWA supervisor appointments and ERA project issues. Mascola is a World War I veteran and active in local veterans and fraternal groups.
