The Bristol-Colt High Alumni Association plans its annual bridge party on May 4 at the Colt auditorium to raise funds for educational and athletic activities at the senior high school. The general arrangements committee met Wednesday night. Miss Margaret F. Nerolle chairs a large organizing group including numerous local society members.
Frances Nero an 18 month old girl was trapped inside a locked bath room for over an hour in Bristol. Fireman Henry Campbell forced the window and unlocked the door freeing the child without injury. The incident prompted a warning to avoid locked doors and mitigate risks in homes.

The second annual kite contest for Bristol youths is set for tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Anthony Field on Griswold Avenue weather permitting. Sponsored by Awashanki Herd P W S the Boy Scout honor society the event has two divisions for under 14 and 14 to 18 year olds. Prizes awarded to the farthest flying kites within a two hour window with Rocco Proto Leonard Abernante and Anthony Monofo as starters and herd officers as judges. Entries to be left at Fred E Suzman’s Hope Street store.
Beginning Monday and continuing for an indefinite period free Americanization classes will be held daily from 2 to 4 p m at Burton school. A. A. Marcotte will supervise as a WPA project instructor and assist with preparing for final citizenship papers. registration with him at the school is requested.
Dem enic Mascola Bristol SAR administrator announced only one Civilian Conservation Camp appointment can be made from Bristol for at least six months. About 125 applicants are affected while Mascola hopes to place men sooner if possible. Miss Lelia McGrath of Providence begins as Bristol case investigator succeeding Miss Mary J. Santos, transferred to Providence.
The Olympian Club hosts its annual winter sports carnival at the Spy Gym featuring basketball boxing wrestling and gymnastics plus novelty entertainment. Bristol Blue Jackets meet New Bedford Line Jackers in a tough basketball clash with local stars including Cliff Hautman Sam Ford George Grace and Albert Lopes.
Funds will be solicited for this year s Independence Day observance as Bristol organizations join in support. The general arrangements committee met at Hotel Belvedere with Dr Alfred M Merriman presiding. Bristol Council No 379 Knights of Columbus voted to sponsor a social event for the fund. The entertainment committee led by Mrs R S Brightman and Canon Anthony R Parshley reported progress. The finance committee under the general chairman will begin private donations next week.

He will headline the Saturday banquet on April 4 with Dolly Madison Ira Lloyd Letts and others as speakers. Kenneth Wright of Pawtucket is toastmaster as the event will conclude with dancing.
