Civil Engineer Lester Gurney Recalls a Lifelong Career
Lester Gurney Sr describes fifty years in civil engineering in Bristol Rotary talk. He traces early work on Long Island railway, Cape Cod Canal, and Providence River crossing towers, then thirty five years with New England Electric System, contributing to wartime power projects and modern construction methods. He laments political graft, urges more engineers in government, and notes retirement as a Bristol resident and Rotary member.
