Bristol District Nursing Association met to elect Mrs Barnes Newberry Jr president after Dr Samuel D Clark left. The secretary noted increased town services, added a part time nurse, and continued nursing care. A Rhode Island Tuberculosis and Health Association rep was named, hearing aids funded for ten Bristol schoolchildren, and grants from Wardwell and Moorhouse funds supported individuals. A $2000 Bristol town budget request was made for district nursing use.

PTA Meeting at Guiteras Junior High
About 100 people attended the monthly PTA meeting at Guiteras Junior High School after an open house. Speakers Mrs John Jundt and Vincent Securo, with student helpers Judith Borges Teresa Carmone Vincent Fasano and Ralph DeFelice, led the program. A high school band directed by Joseph Lagardo performed as Sidney Kullberg spoke on PTA founders and celebrated his 60th birthday with a cake and remarks. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Felixn and her committee.

He said managers work hard, not just genius, and noted Bristol copper and aluminum will remain in good supply with copper wire production not reduced for aluminum. The Bristol plant broadens Kaiser wire production nationwide.

Troop 4 reorganizes forming new patrols and leaders
A reorganization meeting of Troop 4 formed new patrols and elected six patrol leaders: Bertrand, Vincent Sousa, Ea, Shun Bipges, and John Silvia. Senior patrol leaders named were Frank Caizzi, Joseph Andrade, Anthony Velleca, and J Sousa. Three scouts were clubbed and a cub joined the troop, including Edmund Borges who was acknowledged by teachers after the meeting.
