Fatally Injured Man Dies After Girder Accident
John Raymond Meiggs 66 of Warren was fatally injured Tuesday afternoon when a large steel girder being removed from a truck pinned him to the ground crushing his skull. He slipped and fell under the two ton girder and died at home after the Colt Memorial Ambulance failed to reach him before his death. Survived by widow Mrs Josephine Meages a daughter Mrs Trene Collins two sons Frederick and John his mother Mrs John Ro Meaggs of Providence one brother Thomas Jo Meinggs and two sisters. Funeral held at his home this afternoon in Warren.

A large crowd attended a benefit food sale at John Post Reynolds School from 3:30 to 6 pm for the library fund. Tables were run by teachers Ms Hopkins, T.D. Newman, Miss Catherine Gnalroy, Miss Mary Connors, Miss Doris Palmer, and others with items including cake, candy, and tea.
