Edward D. Kunz proposed using his Hope street pier north of Herreshoff Manufacturing Co as a bathing area with continuous supervision. A citizens committee formed to raise funds for supervision and seek public support, with proposed hours from late morning to early evening and potential backing from Archie P. Mill Executive On Danger List Wife Killed In Crash
Robert I. MacFayden 34, mill executive and resident manager of Collins & Aikman Weaving Division, remains on the danger list after a collision at Hope and Thames streets. His wife died en route to hospital. she had been seriously injured at the scene. Mrs MacFayden is survived by a 9-year-old son and other relatives. the couple's home is in Fall River.

Playground Opens With Games and Equipment for Town Youth
Yesterday morning the town opened a new playground on the commons with supervision by Archer Allen. About 150 children gathered as swings, baseball gear, and equipment were set out. By week’s end two softball diamonds, outdoor basketball and volleyball courts, and three horseshoe pits are planned. Mr Allen requests help from older high school girls or housewives to supervise the youngsters, especially on the swings, and invites volunteers to contact him at the playground or by phone.
