Five Bristol Girls Graduate From Rhode Island College of Education

Five Bristol girls from Bristol Senior High School class of 1941 graduated last week from Rhode Island College of Education. The group includes Josephine Kerr Louise Ruggiero Marcia Gifford Shirley Levy and Mary Puniello each active in college clubs sports and student government. Kerr served as International Relations Club president and May Queen candidate while Gifford held multiple roles including class pianist and honorary society member. Levy contributed to the Anchor Committee choir and Red Cross work.

First Firemen's Muster Held in Bristol in 1900

The Phoenix reports Bristol hosted the first annual field day and muster of the U S State Firemen's League on June 21 1900. The event drew visiting firemen and spectators with police on duty as Bristol filled with decorations and crowds.
