Colt Memorial Ambulance First Used for Hospital Transport

The Colt Memorial Ambulance carried Mrs August Mendes from 43 Oliver Street to Rhode Island Hospital for an appendectomy after a doctor’s recommendation. Relatives accompanied her for the operation, and on a later occasion the ambulance conveyed Mrs Dominick Roderique to St Joseph's Hospital Providence for medical care.

Bristol Constabulary Adopts Plattsburg Uniform Plan

Fifty Bristol Constabulary members signed to purchase Plattsburg uniforms after a drill at the Naval Reserve Armory. Fifteen members pledged 14.50 for others unable to buy, while Outlet Company will supply coats breeches and loggins at 6.25 each. A council note and invitation to Cranston’s E J W Proffitt marked the drill with hopes town aid.

Station Agent Promoted John C Springer Receives New Role

John C Springer, longtime Franklin street depot supervisor, returns from seven week Pacific coast trip and is promoted to the auditing department of the New York New Haven and Hartford Railroad in Providence. He will serve as relieving agent there as Robert McNeil continues as station agent. Springer plans to reside in town for the present.
