Vandals Strike Colt Casino Front, Damaging Artifacts
Vandals damaged the Colt Casino on Poppa squash Sunday night breaking the tails off two 16 inch bronze horses that stood in front since 1912. They also broke into the casino removed a brass bed smashed trees and left debris in the rear yard. Police are investigating.

About 200 friends gathered Saturday night for a testimonial dinner in honor of Antonio G Goulart new fire chief of the town. Councilman Joseph Gallagher was toastmaster with remarks from Michael Fox state education department supervisor and East Providence Fire Dept. Capt. William Varges presented a gift from the Ever Ready Fire Station. Manuel F Sousa Jr. chair presented Mrs Goulart flowers. Rep. George C Lima and Board of Engineers members attended.
