Brig Gen L H Callan will speak at the dedication ceremony for the new Kearney Post No 6 American Legion headquarters on Franklin Street. A 2:15 pm parade precedes the 3 pm program followed by a 5 pm clambake marking the post 21st anniversary.
The Bristol Senior High School Band under Mrs Theresa Donovan will perform its first public concert Monday night in the Colt Memorial High School Auditorium to raise funds for instruments and equipment. The program features marches, overtures, waltzes, and operatic airs plus selections by the Senior Choral Group with John Marshall and Earl Rounds as accompanists.
Jeremiah Hopkins commander of the Rhode Island G A R at the Soldiers Home marks his 100th birthday. He has been extremely active in Civil War veterans affairs, decorating graves on Memorial Day and looking to the future with optimism.

Bristol residents rally for the Red Cross War Refugees Fund raising over 1000 dollars toward a 1500 dollar town quota. Donations include 869.00 acknowledged earlier and many local contributors from Scouts to churches and individuals, with a total of 1 034 06 pledged to Bristol Branch, American Red Cross.
Lt Clerc formerly of the Carr Manufacturing Co Bristol is reported prisoner of Germany. The father Joseph Clerc received notice via A H Carr that Clerc was in action on the Belgian French front and believed dead before learning of his capture. Both father and son are well known in Bristol city.
Memorial services will be conducted by Burnside Lodge Knights of Pythias Sunday night at 7 30 in the First Baptist Church. Rev Arthur W Burdon will officiate and also lead 10 30 morning worship. Sermon subject is Christianity in Revolt.
Father John M. Rohrman MS son of Mr and Mrs John B Rohrman of Collins Street has returned to the Seminary of Our Lady of La Sallette Altamont NY to continue studies for a philosophy degree. He was accompanied by Mr and Mrs Warren MacDougall of Providence his sister and brother in law and by Mr and Mrs Andrew Miles of this town.
The North Swansea Baptist Church presents the comedy Aaron Slick from Punkin Crick at St Michael's Parish House. George Luther makes his debut as Aaron Slick with Miss Pauline Brown as Gladys Merridew and Beatrice Knott as the Girl in Green. Bristol sponsors and refreshments will be on sale. it previously played in Swansea to strong success.
Authorized by William Allen White the petition to defend America by aiding the Allies drew ready support at St. Michael's Church. signatures include Granville Bennett and many locals. The program seeks release of military equipment, $100 million for refugee relief, halt exports to aggressors, and measures to back the Allies without war.
The annual Guiteras Memorial School exhibit attracted a large crowd of parents and pupils. The auditorium welcomed visitors as each department showcased pupil works while the school orchestra conducted by Mrs. M. The resa Donovan performed orchestral music during the event.
