Plaintiff Wins $171 Decision In Civil Suit

A judgment for the plaintiff awarding 171.77 dollars was entered in the Fifth District Court yesterday morning in the case of August Alves versus Joseph Motta. Clerk W. Vincent Sumpter presided in Judge William T. O'Donnell's absence. A one week continuance was granted in the case of Mary Viera versus William Francis. No police cases were docketed.

Edward J. Fitzgerald Named Chief Marshal for Bristol Fourth

Edward J. Fitzgerald principal of Bristol High School will head the grand military firemen and civic parade on July Fourth. Judge G Mortimer Sullivan was named orator at patriotic exercises after the parade in front of Reynolds School. The parade will include Newport Navy Training Station units and 400 sailors from USS King, with Army Coast Artillery Companies A B and C and Panama Coast Guard detachment.

Senior High Graduation Week Kicks Off With Class Day

Senior high students begin commencement activities tomorrow at 10:30 with Class Day. Natale Candelmo presides and gives welcome. Principal FitzGerald awards certificates and letters. Ralph Morasco reads class history. Edna Atkinson, Andrew Del Toro, William Conley, and Rosanna Savino write the prophecies. The class readers and orchestra perform under Mrs. M. H. Donovan. Dr James F. Rockett will address graduation on June 20 at the Andrews school auditorium. About 104 diplomas will be presented by Charles B. Rockwell. Rev Michael L. Ryan will give the invocation and benediction.

Senior High Band and Choral Delight Community Concert

The Bristol Senior High School Band and Choral Group presented a well received open recital last night in Colt auditorium raising approximately 50 dollars for new instruments and equipment. Principal Edward J. Fitzgerald announced plans for an open air concert this summer. John Marshall and Earl Rounds accompanied the choral group, with a large audience applauding performances of marches overtures and solos.

Hope Circle Card Party and Whist Night at K of C Hall

Hope Circle Daughters of Isabella held a successful food sale and whist night in its quarters at K. of C. Hall on State street. Winners included Mrs. Walter Rice Miss Elmira Estrella and Mrs. Minnie Mott. Door prize went to Mrs. Laura Sousa. Refreshments were served by the general arrangements committee led by Mrs. Walter Kerr.
