Staff Sergeant Daniel N Brooks arrives in the China Theatre assigned to the Fourteenth Air Force's Chinese American Composite Wing. He is a propeller specialist with the Gambay medium bombardment group. Brooks is the son of Newell Brooks of Bristol Rhode Island and is married to Iris Brooks of Blackshear Georgia. He joined the army December 13 1941 and previously worked for Collins & Aikman Bristol.

M Stuart Barr Receives Navy Discharge
M Stuart Barr received an honorable discharge from the U S Navy on Friday June 8. He enlisted October 24 1942 and served as a storekeeper on an LST invasion craft in the invasions of North Africa Sicily and Italy. He later served on supply duty in England where he sustained a serious back injury. His Bristol home is 693 Hope Street. Lt William H Angevine Jr son of the town treasurer and Mrs William H Angevine is on a 60 day home leave after being liberated from a German prison camp where he was held two years.
