Second Lieutenant Oreste Procopio son of Mr and Mrs Gioacchino Procopio of Bristol Rhode Island has been promoted to first lieutenant after serving as bomber navigator with the 8th Air Force. He flew 20 missions totaling 148 combat hours in a B 17 earning the Air Medal and two Oak Leaf Clusters. He is a Colt High School and Bryant College alum employed by Carr Mig Corp before enlistment.

A Navy telegram informs Mrs Mary E Keener of Coggeshall Ave Bristol Narrows that her husband Pfc Clifford L Keener of the U S Marine Corps sustained gun shot wounds to the head and leg in action at Okinawa Island. He was evacuated to a U S Naval Base Hospital and served with the Sixth Marine Division.

Cpl Robert B Suzman arrived home with his Honorable Discharge papers to resume civilian life. He joined in November 1942, went overseas April 1943, and served in North Africa Sicily Italy Sardinia and Corsica before returning to the U S in May 1944. He has been at Fort Benning Parachute School since then. he is the son of Mrs Fred Suzman and his brother, a veteran, is at Camp Standish.

Chaplain C F Yohe describes a 24 hour stretch in Germany on April 17 when his aid station was attacked by a force of 200 plus, he was captured wounded and later freed, with doctors and assistants rushing into cellars.
