Pearson to lead 4th of July parade in town lore

Pearson, a 32 year old Bristol naval veteran and plastics executive, will head the town 4th of July parade becoming possibly the youngest ever to lead the event. A Pawtucket native, he graduated from Brown University and served as a Navy destroyer operations officer. He and wife Carolyn Broomhead of Rumford have a daughter, Lisa Ann.

The Bristol Red Cross branch met at the YMCA library on June 7. Harold Tucker, 1961 Fund Drive Chair, reported 3413 raised by solicitors and committee members. William S. Baker III was named vice chairman of the disaster committee overseeing shelters.

Bristol Senior High Class of 1461 Graduation Night

Bristol Senior High celebrated the class of 1461 with a full gym, Raymond Almeida as president delivering the welcome, and Mary B Chase and Rhea Rounds presenting salutatory and valedictory essays. Prizes honored Chase, Menezes, Boards, Teany, Kullberg, and Ruggiero. diplomas were conferred by John Principe Jr. The program featured choir and orchestra selections and the Commencement and Class March, ending with best wishes for future success.
