Senior Day Event Prom Night at Sos Fst Gym

Fourth of July Fund Appeals for Bristol Budget

Chimes for St Michaels moved to storage until tower built

Chimes in the former Trinity Church tower will be removed within a week or two and stored in Cincinnati Ohio awaiting construction of a bell tower at St Michaels Episcopal Church. Rodman Chase, committee chair, said ST Verdin of Cincinnati will transfer and store the chimes until funds enable restoration and erection of an open steel tower on the Hope Street lawn opposite the Parish House.

Bristol men named officers of fraternal order at convention

Three Bristol men were elected to posts in the Rhode Island Vere Fraternal Order of Eagles at the annual convention held last weekend in Warwick. Raymond Thomas was chosen vice president, Joseph Pannone was re elected secretary and Ladd Lyon was named trustee.

School Dept To Rescind Survey Vote

A Bristol school board faces questions over spending surplus funds to finance a school building survey. Lucien Capone argues state law allows a free survey by the State Board of Education and questions the board’s authority to reallocate $5,000 without taxpayer approval. The issue was raised at a special town meeting call and may affect the budget move.

Bristol Old Timers to face Warren Old Timers at new field

The Bristol Old Timers baseball squad will oppose the Warren Old Timers Sunday at 3 p.m. for the dedication of Warren High School Athletic Field. A second game features the Champion 1956 Warren team versus the current Warren squad.
