Town charter draft nears final form with edits discussed
The board seeks to resolve all doubts by Monday night so the charter can move to final form. Dr. Matthew C. Mitchell advised the group in its last meeting. Changes include allowing dual office holding, enabling compensation for board members, and reforming probation rules for police appointments. A planning master plan and beach responsibility shift are noted, with review tonight and a final vote expected Monday. Donald McGinn, runner up in the teen road-e-o, will represent Bristol County at Sunday’s state contest in Woonsocket.
