Quinn will deliver the principal address at the Fourth of July patriotic exercises at Colt Memorial High School at 9 15 a.m. He is a West Warwick native with a long career in state government and the judiciary, including service as senator lieutenant governor and governor, and as Associated Justice of the Rhode Island Superior Court.

Navy veteran confesses to Bristol Garage thefts

A man recently discharged from the Navy confessed to stealing between 17 and 1800 dollars from the Bristol Garage on May 3. Police Chief Anthony Ferrara announced the arrest and arraignment on 13 counts for similar Newport thefts. Taken by Rhode Island State Police while about to complete a Newport break in, Robert A. Walters of Wynne, Arkansas, is held at Portsmouth barracks.

Firemen's Memorial Sunday Parade in Bristol

The second Sunday in June marks Firemen's Memorial Sunday with a 1:15 p.m. parade from Town Common on High Street led by parade marshal Harry R. Gray. Attendees include Town Council members, State legislators, and visiting firemen from Warren and Barrington, with Portuguese Independent Band providing music before memorial exercises at the Firemen's Monument.

A capacity crowd filled Andrews gymnasium as 122 Bristol Senior High School graduates received diplomas from School Committee Chairman Anthony Pereira. Awards were presented to Mary Carol King James Palreiro Suzanne Brown Anthony Mascola Richard J. Travers and Robert Usher.
