Senior Week Opens With Banquet at Bristol High
Bristol Senior High School marked Senior Week with a banquet last night for 122 seniors as graduation nears. Dr. William S. Lynch Fall River Superintendent of Schools will deliver the commencement address. Edward J. Fitzgerald was last night’s principal speaker along with John L. Burke and Mary Carol King presenting the yearbook. Class day is set for tomorrow at 1 pm in Andrews Auditorium with events including a class picture and reception.

Fasano Perry Named 4th Chief of Staff for Parade
Vincent Fasano and Francis N. Perry have been named chief of staff and deputy chief of staff of the Fourth of July parade by chief marshal Joseph G. A. Riccio. Fasano, a 11-year Army veteran and major in the Army Reserve, served 22 months in Iceland and 15 months in Europe with the 12th Army Group staff. Perry, 34, a 1949 URI graduate and former Sergeant Major in WWII and the Korean War, is active in local civic groups and Jaycees, and serves in several municipal boards and associations.

At a public hearing nine charter commission members and ten attendees discussed limits on debate and questions. Police Chief Ferrara argued for a longer probationary period and for council involvement in officer appointments. Citizens raised questions on roles of the budget and planning boards, with concerns about school budget processes and state appeal channels. Continued discussion promised on page 4.
