Girls' Horseshoe Championship Decided Tuesday
Bristol Common Playground hosted the girls horseshoe championships with junior Caroline Miranda, eleven, and senior Antonette Gagliojon, thirteen, winning the titles. Under instructor Miss Jeanette Salzano, finals saw Miranda defeat Lucy Gaglio 21 16 27 10 after earlier wins, while Antonette beat Irene Borges 22 15 25 10 and Antonette De Piano 21 11 21 13. Rotary Club Holds Second Annual Outing at Hopeworth Bay
Bristol Rotary Club held its second annual outing on a Wednesday afternoon at Hopeworth overlooking Mount Hope Bay. About 48 members and guests enjoyed a clam chowder lunch, obstacle golf, races, water squirt, horseshoe, shoe, pipe, and hall throwing contests, plus an 8 7 ball game won by Ed Currier's team.

Louis A Guida of 246 State Street must appear in the Fifth District Court Monday to answer to a charge of operating an automobile with defective brakes after an accident in front of Mrs P H Morris’s home at 923 Hope Street. Witnesses say Guida and another small touring car were speeding from Warren when Guida lost control, grazing a tree and breaking parts of a picket fence before stalling.
