The state attorney general ruled Bristol’s Charter Commission may operate only as an independent study body and not as the official commission under Home Rule. Planning Board Reviews Bristol Neck Localities for Playground
The Planning Board met at 6 30 p m to inspect ten localities on Bristol Neck as potential playground sites. Chairman Roger W. Pigeon said no site was chosen. At 8 p m they resumed with a regular meeting and voted to advertise a public hearing on the Mary W F Howe estate at Lowe Lane and Ferry Road for August 30.

National Commander to Visit Kearney Post No 6
National Commander Erle Cocke Jr of the American Legion will visit Kearney Post No 6 next Thursday after noon to sign the guest register. New School Nurse Joins Staff From Pacific Theater Service
Miss Concetta Fasano is the newly appointed school nurse. She served 25 months in the Pacific Theater with the Army Nurse Corps, four years in WWII overall, and has worked five and a half years in Dr. Samuel Clark's office. A Colt Memorial High graduate, she earned nursing credentials at St. Joseph's School of Nursing Providence in 1940 and trained at St. Joseph's Hospital. She resides at 26 Bayview Avenue.
