Haircut memories from ports Algiers to Russia
A sailor recalls foreign haircuts from Algiers in 1943 where a Parfumerie sting led to a 10 franc trim. In Palermo the barber’s stingy tools left him nearly bare, paying five lire. In Ukraine Russia, Ukrainian barbers charm with chatter, sharp blades, and a 20 rouble charge, yet he keeps his ears.
