Council Suspends Eagle Bar License
The Town Council voted to suspend the Eagle Bar class C license until Aug 7 following Chief Ferrara's recommendation after Ali Pico Benevides, brother of the proprietor, was arrested for bookmaking at the bar on July 13. Joseph Benevides claimed ignorance of the activity and criticized the two week suspension as unfair while pursuing a license transfer to class B victuallers. The council also approved Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church outing at St Columban’s Seminary grounds and granted a one day Class F beverage license.
