Dr Bruno Plans Local Advisory Council For Bristol Health
Dr Bruno, Bristol GI health officer, told Rotary Club officials at White Rail that he will meet with local doctors next week to form an advisory medical council. The aim is to report local disease statistics and funnel health information through a central channel, with cooperation among health agencies and welfare groups. He cited immunization as a public duty and noted past nuisances from improper waste handling, stressing community involvement and improved organization. Nicholas Mancieri, newly appointed sanitarian, accompanied him and praised the plan. The department operates from The Annex on Court St with a dedicated phone line. Tug Keeps Busy Transporting Coast Guard Reservists

Plans for V J Day observance progress near completion
The Veterans Council announced nearly finished plans for V J Day events. Parade on Bradford Street to Veterans Memorial Park with Chief Marshal M/Sgt Frank Sousa retiring after 30 years in October. August 14 program at the park includes bands and invited groups, followed by a Little League trophy game and a Teen dance on the Common.
