Joseph Ferreira 9 of 12 Coggeshall Avenue received a deep cut on his left foot after stepping on glass in his yard yesterday afternoon. Dr Angelo attended the boy and sutured the wound with two stitches. The Ferreira family is one of those aided by the town and the Portuguese government to return to their homeland.
Simon A Hayes of 10 Thorndike Street Peabody driving a sedan south on Hope Street yesterday afternoon collided with a sedan driven by Stanley A Bennett of 83 South Main Street Uxbridge. Bennett, parked south in front of the local bath house, attempted to pull out. Damage to both cars was slight and no one was injured.
Plans for the F O E state convention to be held in this town tomorrow and Sunday were finalized at a meeting of the State Convention committee in Fagles Hall Makowsky Block last evening. The banquet opens Saturday at Hotel Belvedere with Judge Edward L Leahy as master of ceremonies. Principal speakers include Judge Thomas O'Donnell of Kansas City Mo New England Organizer Thomas B Murphy of Boston Mass Deputy Auditor James Tevlin of New London Conn Deputy Auditor William F Kelley of Naugatuck Conn and Past State President Matthew J Smith of Waterbury.
In the third series race Tuesday Latile Rhody Jr sailed by Sarah Tillinghast won the 123 ft waterline knockabout event and stays top on points. Other finishers were Nancy Bell Phantom Shrimpo Black Maria Moro Remona Rhode I and Red Flit Widgeon The Empress retired after splitting its mainsail.

Arthur Sampson of Warren in the Ticket and Order Department was severely cut when his left forearm laceration occurred while trying to open a window in the Packing Department. Dr Alfred M Merriman treated him with eight stitches and he cannot yet return to work.
