TB Unit Report Details Bristol Warren School TB Tests
The Rhode Island health group reports on a five year school TB detection program in Bristol and Warren. Of 5 103 tested, 142 reactors and 32 active cases are under follow up. Bristol shows the lowest rate among the five communities with 21 reactors per 100 tested. The program stresses that a positive result does not confirm active disease and emphasizes ongoing exams, contact tracing, and parent consent for testing. Plans to expand intradermal testing replace chest X rays and broaden screening in the coming year are noted.
