Accident on Metacom Ave Injures Two Drivers
A second serious crash in three days occurred at Metacom Avenue intersecting Narrows Road. Charles B Booth, 46, of Chestnut Street, ran from Narrows Road into Metacom, colliding with a car driven by Alphona M Plourd, 39, of Na agan sett Ave East Proxidere. Plourd was treated for a sore right arm a shoulder and knee abrasions. Both vehicles towed. Booth to be summoned to Fifth District Court for failing to keep his car under control.

Fatal Crash Confirms Unlicensed Passenger Died
Police revealed after a thorough investigation that Frederick Senay 16 of Fall River operated the car at Metacom and Bay View Avenues last Monday. Passenger Manuel Rego Coelho 39 was killed. The car struck a trailer truck driven by William Bone of Bellport New York. The three car occupants provided statements indicating Senay was the operator. he held a Massachusetts learner permit for only 50 days.

Bristol Council Acts On Parking Problem
The Bristol Town Council approved Chief Ferrara’s recommendations on street parking at Constitution Street and Thames Street. Plans include installing meters along Corsettation Street area after resident input and posting no parking signs on the east side of Thames Street from Constitution to State Street. Church Street west of Hope Street would be limited to two hour parking after authorities noted weekend as well as weekday use. Council discusses Metacom Avenue accidents and asks the state to conduct intersection surveys as a measure.

Roger Pigeon Named To Commission
Roger W Pigeon of 127% Hope St was named by Governor Christopher Del Ses to join the newly formed Smolle Igland Estate Commission. Pigeon, 62, was born and educated in Boston, joined the Navy in 1917, and later worked in regional real estate roles and youth sports work, including helping establish Little League in Bristol. He and his wife have four children. The seven member board includes five county representatives and two at large, with rules on public representation and broker experience.
