Bristol seeks 8000 from federal funds to clean beautify and develop its waterfronts including a new town beach near Colt Drive and beaches at Oliver Street Union Street and Valley Street plus work around Bristol Yacht Club. Joseph Cabral a 38 year old Bristol resident and former WPA worker died after being backed over by a sand filled truck on a Barrington County Road Construction site. He left WPA employment June 19 to work for Romano Construction of Warren and is survived by his wife Mary and eight children. The funeral is set for Monday at St Elizabeth's Church with burial in St Mary's Cemetery.

Boys Recaptured After Fleeing Police
Two Peabody youths aged 12 and 14 were chased by Bristol police after evading a Mount Hope Bridge toll and riding stolen bicycles. They were taken to headquarters for questioning. one boy was captured on Hope Street and the other in a State Street yard. The 12 year old’s parents were en route from Peabody. the 14 year old’s parents declined involvement. The youths remain in Newport jail on questions about the bicycles and suspected purse snatching in Newport.
