Bristol Woman Safe Aboard U S S Washington
Mrs Bob Parker of Bristol, living in Southampton since 1938, is aboard the U S S Washington and will reach New York Harbor tomorrow. Her mother Mrs Maude Holbrook received a cablegram confirming the safe arrival after months of anxiety amid Europe’s troubles. Parker had refused to leave her husband, who stayed behind in England, and their romance began when Parker arrived aboard Endeavour II in May 1937 for the America's Cup challenge preparations.
