The body of James Conway, a Soldiers’ Home inmate, drowned in a boating accident near Spar Island was recovered by Felix LeCroix. Conway, a World War veteran, was 53 and had just passed the ship in the 33rd Field Artillery. His sister and brother live in Providence.

Miss Isabelle Main Wardwell died at her home 509 Hope Street in Bristol after a lengthy illness. She was born January 12, 1848 and educated at Wheaton Seminary. A longtime church and civic donor, she funded scholarships and supported charitable groups throughout her life. Her funeral will be at 3 PM Sunday from her residence with Rev. Herbert D.
