Firecrackers Debate on 4th of July Fireworks
A reader asserts that firecrackers are acceptable while bombs are not, railing against the pleasure some derive from Fourth of July explosions. The writer warns of injured children and severed limbs to argue against bomb use.
America First and the defense of home
A reader argues for immediate action against the spread of war, urging support for President and President Wood as well as the America First Committee. The piece compares public pressure to extinguishing a home fire and stresses helping neighbors to save one’s own house rather than avoiding risk.
