The Bristol Boy Scout Bugle and Drum Corps won four major prizes at the Veterans of Foreign Wars State Convention drum and bugle competition in Warren. They earned top honors for open valve class, best junior drum major Norman Rene, best appearing corps in parade and field, and the grand aggregate with 294.96, just shy of the state record. State Guards Debut New Gray and Blue Uniforms

Recreation Board weighs Bristol Harbor beach sites
The newly formed recreation board reviewed possible beach locations at the Bristol Harbor head, with the favored area between Town Clerk John W. Church’s property and the Castle. Suffers Broken Leg When Struck By Auto
Mrs. Harriet P. Church of 46 Franklin Street was hit by an automobile while crossing Hope Street at Franklin last evening. She suffered a fractured right leg and severe bruises and was taken to Dr William L Serbst and then to Rhode Island Hospital. The car was driven by Miss Regina G Farley of 885 Hope Street who reported the accident to police.
