Town elections edge toward March as parties maneuver

Two party committees in a small town set the stage for March elections with Democratic and Republican primaries looming. The Democratic slate centers on Council President race between Dr Samuel D Clark and E Hugh Holmes, while the Republicans back ex councilman Foxy Marshall for the second seat and other incumbents. School committee and other local offices also see party endorsements ahead of primaries February 2 and February 12.

Gilbert B Shaw 27 Usher Ter leaves Thursday by plane for Montevideo Uruguay to serve as technical advisor in the wire department of Fabrica Uruguya de Neumaticos. If the assignment goes well he may move his wife and family for a three year period. A University of Vermont graduate, he has spent 22 years with United States Rubber Company Bristol plant mainly as general foreman of the Insulating department.

Little League Applications Open in Phoenix Office

Boys wanting to play in the Little League may obtain application blanks at the Phoenix office next week. A number of blanks are being printed to meet the demand of many boys anxious to get their names in for the Little League to assure places on teams.
