Private Sylvester Receives Bronze Star for Korea Heroism

Pryvete John DeWitt Sylvester of 33 Elizabeth Street, son of Mr and Mrs Harold Sylvester, awarded the Bronze Star for exposing himself to heavy enemy fire to evacuate wounded and resupply his unit near Taegu Korea on September 3 1950 while with the First Cavalry Division. He was wounded and evacuated to Japan later.
