Edward H Holmes Succeeds Father as Town Highway Surveyor
Edward H. Holmes was appointed by the Bristol Town Council to fill the unexpired term of his late father James Holmes as Bristol Highway Surveyor. The post pays $1300 annually. Also applying was Joseph F. Pannone, previously dismissed as a supervisor for lack of work. The council deferred final action on the applicants. Police notes report 11 arrests in the past month and 45 complaints investigated. Continuation of a sewage disposal plant repair project was ordered after hurricane-related disruption.
