Funeral Held For Dr William F Duffy Bristol Leader In Medical Service
Mourners at St Marys Church include state town and school officials clergy and medical colleagues for the funeral of Dr William F Duffy Bristol physician who died Friday night after a long illness. Rev Michael L Ryan led a solemn high mass with deacon Rev Lawrence A Deery and sub deacon Rev Vincent J Griffin as support. Committal followed at St Marys Cemetery with a distinguished line of bearers and honorary pallbearers. Duffy born December 28 1871 in Bristol studied at Bristol High School University of Chicago pharmacy 1893 and NY Medical College 1898. He served as medical inspector of Bristol public schools and was active with St Marys Church and Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife Rose Nolan a son and a sister with many local officials among the mourners.
