Town Tax Assessors Seek More Clerical Help
At a Town Council appearance the Tax Assessors outlined rising town wealth and expanding tax workload. They cited 1933 to 1947 increases in valuation from 18 to 21 million dollars, bills from 3,700 to 5,033, and exemptions from 61 thousand to 357 thousand for veterans. They warned the tax book will grow with 1,200 new lots and more auto mobile assessments, urging public support for more office space and staff.
