People to People program aims for broad international friendship

President Eisenhower launched a White House conference leading to the People to People program for international friendship. It invites all Americans to participate, from letter writing and sharing books to hosting foreign visitors, with government support but reliance on private citizens. The Gazette of Amble, Pa. issued a bilingual Freedom Edition for Coburg’s 900th anniversary to illustrate cross cultural outreach.
