Town Council Advances Budget Items at March Meeting

Town Council held a session approving most budget requests with two exceptions the Police Department and Bristol Playground Association. Total thus far 277100 with 2700 for playground and 2500 for tree work among items to be sent to taxpayers for approval at the financial town meeting March 19.

Victory Supper Marks Successful Church Fund Drive

Over 100 members of the State Street ME Church attended the Victory Turkey Parish Supper in the vestry to celebrate finishing the fund drive for renovations. Rev Charles W Martin presided. Clinton T Sherman led toasts with Rev Edward E Wells Ezra Dixon and others speaking. Tables featured cut flowers as a committee of volunteers organized arrangements.

Colonial Review and Minstrels Highlight Bristol Memorial Event

A capacity crowd attended a Bristol event at Gil teras Memorial School showcasing Colony Days in Bristol. Mrs Alfred M Merriman directed the colonial tableaux aided by Misses Feeley Love Rohland and harpists from Providence, while Judge Edward L Leahy hosted the minstrels with local talent and the Colt Memorial High School Orchestra.
