Trial Adjourned Over Hypothetical Question Involving Defendant

Knights of Pythias Burnside Lodge Open Meeting

Burnside Lodge No. 34 Knights of Pythias holds an open meeting tomorrow evening at G A R Hall to celebrate the 54th anniversary of the lodge and lay the honor roll of 17 members in National service. Expected speakers include District Deputy Arthur H Mérino Warren Past Supreme Representative John J Hackett Woonstocket William A Wilson Providence Grand Keeper of Records and Seal and Past Chancellor Williams Sterling Providence. A musical program is planned.

Rhode Island Tops National Shipbuilding Registration Week

Rhode Island achieved the best state showing during National Shipbuilders Registration Week, with about 6000 registrants. Illinois led in total enrollments with near 50,000. nationwide enrollment nears a quarter million, as the program continues to gather volunteers for merchant fleet efforts aiding Europe. New York City registered just over half its 20,000 goal.

Patriotic Dance Aids Fort Rodman Funds

A Washington's Birthday event titled Patriotic Dane will be held in R Hall on Feb 22 under the Colonial Club auspices. Wynne's Orchestra will perform for moonlight dancing to raise funds partly for cigarettes for Fort Rodman troops. J. Lee Jr notes the patriotic cause and urges public support.

Stabbing in San Antonio Prompts Arrest Warrant

The report notes a man named Antonio Cato tiflato residing at DeWolf avente Caroftinato faces charges after a Saturday stabbing on a city sidewalk near Wie and Church. The victim, identified as Bradshaw, was treated at Rhode Island Hospital after surgery. Police searched for Carotunato, who was said to be hiding on Vernon Street, Warren. The suspect previously faced a murder charge in Providence but was acquitted by a jury about a year ago.

Treasure and Trinket Fund Week aids U S airmen

Beginning Monday February 25 the Bristol Fortnightly Club launches the Treasure and Trinket Fund Week to aid American aviators at home and abroad.
