Chamber Seeks Funding for Yale Lighting and Street Cleanliness
The Chamber of Commerce voted last night to request $850 from the budget committee and Town Council for the 1956 Yale lighting, matching last year’s appropriation. Battery C of the 243rd AAA Battalion Bristol has been named the outstanding Army unit for 1955, winning the Eisenhower Trophy. The unit, largest in the Rhode Island National Guard with 112 men, earned high marks for camp performance and superior armory and training ratings despite hurricane damage and makeshift facilities.
