Fire Chief Urges Caution on Burns and Grass Fires
Bristol Fire Chief Moses Moore urged residents to use common sense when burning rubbish or grass as eleven alarms were set for one day. A ten acre brush fire near Juniper Hill Cemetery endangered nearby Simmons Street property including a pig pen and dog house. Fire units initially responded to a still alarm then General Alarms called in three additional companies.

Leonard Sanford Wins Prize In Stamp Exhibit
Leonard P. Sanford won first prize at the Bristol Philatelic Society exhibit held last evening at Holmes House. Twelve other entrants displayed novel arrangements. Sanford exhibited every issue of U S airmails. Other prizes went to John W. Church for United States flag sets, Walter H. Angell for Cranston commemoratives, Ernest Frederick for U S Presidential series in blocks, and Viola Palmer for commemoratives arranged in tree form. Consolation prize to Mrs. T P Warren of West Barrington. Three new members were admitted.

Attille A. Artie Pansa of 82 High Street Bristol public schools is notified by the University of Pittsburgh that he is now eligible for a Master of Education. The degree will be presented June 11. He earned a BA from Rhode Island State College and served two years in the Army Air Corps as a physical instructor before directing at Deshon General Hospital.
