Prince Sigmund schedules a blindfolded Buick drive through principal streets starting at 12:30 pm from the Pastime Theatre. He will describe goods from store windows during the route guided by his wife via thought transference, with a hypnotic display at Falugo's furniture store beforehand.
The Bristol Rotary Club presents Cabaret de Paris at the Naval Armory on Wednesday and Thursday nights to raise funds for the Student Loan Fund. An orchestra, vaudeville acts, French cabaret atmosphere, food prepared by two local women, balloons and decor set the scene with auto parking arranged opposite Cranston Mall. Tickets from local water works offices. tables reserved for four. promoters promise a lively evening of fun and support for merit-based student education.
National Red Cross drought relief drive records show contributions from Meroo and Mars worth 1000, a 25 dollar gift from Gertrude Drury, and a Bristol donation of 2500 from Industrial Trust Co Providence. A member of the Republican Town Committee was named Probation Officer for the Sixth District Court Providence and to assist on the Fifth District Court. The appointee, a Coit High School graduate class of 1909, was announced yesterday and is favorably known locally.
Gov and Mrs Case will host the Washington Ball at the Naval Armory Friday evening Feb 20 under Bristol Train of Netillers auspices. Attendees include Brig Gen Herbert R Dean Brig Gen E Ho Callan Col Thomas Hammond Mayor Chay F Tockstard Capt Carl G Swanson and other staff and guests. The committee plans box seats around the hall and a band concert led by Mrs M Teresa Donovan prior to the grand march.
The board met to arrange the budget for next Monday while discussing facilities needs and resignations. Charles E Dowd resigned from Colt High School to join Walpole Mass, and Miss Margaret Murphy will be dispensed with as extra teacher effective Feb 11.
