James F. Meiggs attended the Fifth District Court in Bristol for the first time since sworn in as Bristol County Sheriff. Fifth District Court Drops Assault Charge Against Vargas
Acting on a Hammill recommendation Judge Lindemuth discontinued the assault charge against Frank Vargas 23 of 386 Brightman Street Fall River after payment of costs. Vargas was arrested Sunday after noon on a private complaint by William D Alessi of Reservoir Avenue. An earlier altercation on Congregational Street led to the dispute. A one week continuance was ordered in the Dr John H Lake Jr illegal operation case and in civil actions Laura Martelly versus A H Carr and Arthur Carr versus Laura Martelly. The replication writ in Robert F Edwards versus Salvatore Rinaldi was continued two weeks.
